XJTU held the inaugural ceremony of Jia Chunlin Scientists Studio, bearing the same name of Professor Jia Chunlin, who is one of the scholars of 1000 Talents Plan. This is a pioneering work that XJTU has made to encourage self-management, free exploration, self-discipline, and to motivate scientists and provide the research of scientists with a better platform.

Being an international famous scholar in the field of Electron Microscopy of Materials, Jia Chunlin serve as a senior scientist in the Institute of Microstructure of Germany Juelich Research Center and he was included in the list of 1000 Talents Plan in 2010. It is Jia Chunlin that promoted the cooperation between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Germany Juelich Research Center through establishing research platform, cooperative graduate education, and exchanges of researchers, and Jia Chunlin Scientists Studio has the capacity to start a long-term cooperation with Germany Juelich Research Center.

With the characteristic of high starting point and internationalization, the studio will focus on undertaking the major tasks at home and abroad, training elites that have international competitiveness, and exploring the new system of scientific research.

The studio, which carries out the system of chief scientist responsibility and Jia Chunlin holds the post of chief scientist, is directly under XJTU, and funded by XJTU. It has the interdependence of working out development plan, personnel employment, and recruiting graduate students. The research area of the studio is about interface and atomic structure and the studio has a deep cooperation with School of Telecommunications, School of Materials, and School of Electrical Engineering in XJTU.
